I have opined at times that if one looks at the prevalence of diseases, there is no way anyone in the world can be healthy, but actually, it appears that a small number of people get everything, thus protecting the rest of us in some way.

Unfortunately health problems are often like a train, with one thing connected to another, and just keep going down the tracks. It is a tough cycle to break. She (and you) have my sincere sympathy.
