Well when my Mother passed away in 85 Christmas became just another day but not a sad day just an ordinary day. The whole marketing thing is bad but not enough to ruin a day where our family gets together to remember the days of our youth and those members of our family that are no longer with us. We don't have children of our own so there is none of the gimme gimme and I want this or that going on, we usually buy what we want for ourselves throughout the year but still try to buy some small things for each other.
