S type is designed to sit on your left side. regular goes on your right. They didn't offer the S-type when I got mine and I assumed it was designed for left side carry. It is ok but its more comfortable on the right. I can't stand having anything on my right side except my gun. I have to have that hand free. Man purse on the left, my pistol on the right.
