When we decided we were moving to that area I used that as an excuse to buy a 10mm pistol and set it up with a red dot for grizzly protection with some hot hard cast ammo. I also have some really hot 12 gauge ammo and some fairly hot ammo for my Guide gun in 45/70.

We have hung out in grizzly country quite of bit over the past 25 or so years. I haven't had an issue yet but we try to be smart about it. It never hurts to be prepared though.
