That's actually what got me to start stocking up and prepping years ago. I used to live in a small mountain town and power outages were common. Either weather-related or some joker shooting transformers and other parts in remote areas. It was easy to get cut off from stores due to snow or rock falls blocking roads. It was nice to not really have to sweat any of those issues. If I really needed something I could take the forest service trails to a bigger town to re-up.



Yup, having a good supply of shelf stable food along with a genset and fuel stores makes life easy when it is suppose to get rough! Finally wired in a full transfer switch a couple years ago and the only downside is that I have no idea what to do with all the extra extension cords I have now...

Had a 3 or 4 day power outage a few years ago. Almost felt guilty watching TV and playing games on my laptop to pass the time... laugh
