I got up way too early for no good reason. I'm waiting on what seems like round 53 of snow to come in this morning.
In all the boredom with the heavy snow I did learn something that I didn't know. For an inexpensive piece of fire kit some of the metal manual pencil sharpeners are made from magnesium blocks. You can shave off magnesium (burns around 5,000 Deg) shave some wood off of twigs and if you can make a spark you have a fire. And a pointy stick. I found some and sure enough the are stamped magnesium right on the front. A German company KUM made the ones I found.
