Very true. Knives snd outdoor equipment were definitely Easier to enjoy when I lived on/next to places where I could toss on a day pack and go spend a day or 2 in the woods Shooting competition and guns were my main draw after that but having a family reduces the time I have for travel and the sharp rise in ammo/reloading costs has diminished the joy in it.
Now I find most of my joy in my wife & 2 children. Just got my little guy his first sleeping bag yesterday lol.
Mountain biking is a nice release and I’m fortunate enough to live 15-25min away from 3 trail networks one my dad started back in the early 90s.
