Afternoon Yard!

The weather here is great. It's 75 and sunny.

I managed to get all my errands ran this morning and still had time to go to the range this morning.

I spent about an hour running steel plate racks. I finally picked up a shot timer (I haven't used one since I retired). I wanted to get a baseline for my shooting. From 15 yards I was able to clear the 6 plate rack clean (8 inch round plates) in 4.88. That's not real good, but also not real bad. My best spit times were consistently .54 with my best being .49. I can bring those down. My problem is getting on the red dot consistently from the holster. Best of the day was 1.34 worst was 2.04.

I can trim my time down a bunch if I would stop searching for the red dot and focus on the target. It's tougher since I'm still used to iron sights.

I'd like to find a GSSF match within an hour or two drive to compete. Not having any luck. Maybe next summer.

I will say I'm glad I picked up the shot timer. It is definitely going to help my training, especially since I tend to roll solo.
