I think I'll have to test the ammo can vs a Faraway cage. I think seeing if a cell phone will receive calls and texts might be a decent test.
Use a microwave and copper mesh as well. If a call or text gets through its definitely a fail.
I need to pick up some 50 cal cans and a 30mm can anyway. I may try a 2 way radio as well.

I vaguely remember reading an article about some ammo cans that had a thick rubber seal around the top part that would prevent metal to metal contact between the lid and can. This would prevent a Faraday cage from being formed. Always test your cages.
