I'm very protective of my hearing. At least what little I have left. I have had hearing aids since I was 45. I have probably needed them for much longer than that. Gunfire, concussions, and explosions tend to do that. I am missing out on a lot because I can't hear half of what people say unless I'm looking at their face. Since I'm trying to learn some stuff the lectures are great but hearing the discussions that take place is a struggle. Plus I'm sure I drive my wife nuts with the TV volume.
I haven't worn my hearing aids much for the past year. I lost one and they can be pricey. Thankfully these were actually about $1,000 less than my 9 year old pair. I know these are much better for the current state of my ears. Probably a better price since I don't want all the fancy whizzy gidgets to go with them. I just want to be able to have a conversation that I don't have to be within 3 feet and looking directly at somebody.
