YUP. Used to you NEEDED a mega thick knife just for the strength that thickness gave you. Now days it isn't the case. Thinner knives now have the strength a lot thicker ones used to have and are better suited than their thicker, bulky, heavy counterparts of days past. Plus folks are finding out that a smaller knife will work but may take longer to perform a certain task a larger knife would accomplish quicker. Plus the smaller blades are easier to carry.
