i got in the stand early but there was a ton of drops falling from the trees. sounded like something was moving pretty much everywhere. so i get to my stand and after 30 minutes i decide to try out my flextone call. there was a certain buck that spotted me the last trip and i knew he'd be around. so i hit that call and thought i heard something move about 30-40 yards to my left. so i sat there plying that call like a kenny g on a saxaphone. nothing else. come 9 am the drops all dried up and stop all pretty much everywhere. so 30 minutes later i start up with the call again. and again something to my left shuffles. so here i go again with the call. in fact i turned a little in my stand so i was facing my left a little bit. and i start tooting out buck growls and doe bleats with a decent pause in between. nothing happens... so i go to adjust myself back in the foward facing position and get comfortable again. right when a turn around, to my direct rightwhich was pretty much behind me, is this buck sitting there staring dead at me. not a peep as he turns and darts for the same trail he jump on the last time i saw him. and not another deer for the rest of that day. but i think i'm back for him on the last day of the season.
