OK, here we go again.

Spyderco. Better feeling in the hand, more "Slicy" blade due to the Full Flat Grind (FFG). They are a lot tougher than they seem, and the designer(s) did their homework on the ergonomics. Good Job Spyderco.

Emerson. No doubt, they are tough as nails USING blades. They don't have any frills or bells and whistles and they just work, period. But they are a mite on the thicker and heavier side. They APPEAR to be more robust or tougher, more able to take a licking and keep on ticking, but not sure if they are really that much tougher or not. AND I am not going to chance destroying either brand just to find out. As far as filling your hand, the emerson wins hands down. BUT the spyderco has a better "Feel" and doesn't feel like you have picked up a slightly round cornered brick. NO the emersons DO NOT feel like picking up a brick, but they are more chunky in your hand.

I hope this all makes sense to you and doesn't confuse more than you might already be.

Skunk
