I had an interesting occurrence last week. I woke up late feeling a little dizzy. By 1:00 pm, I was really disoriented. I was frustrated and upset that I couldn’t remember how much coffee and water to use in my Aeropress coffee maker. So I used a different one but couldn’t remember how much water to use. I judged it by taking the filter cone off the cup and visually verifying how much coffee was in the cup. At 4:00pm I called my wife at work to tell her to come home. I had great difficulty remembering how to use the phone book feature and how to dial. After numerous attempts, I finally reached her at work. She came home and talked to me and called the Rescue. They said my blood sugar was very low and took me to the hospital. I have Type 2 diabetes and have had to watch for high sugar. I changed my diet last December and my sugar numbers have been going down, my Doctor saw me in the hospital and eliminated one medication and halved the other one. He said it was good that my wife called the Rescue. It could have been serious. Everything seems to be back to normal but I still don’t like having sore fingers from the lancets. Hopefully I can cut it down to once or twice a day.
