I hate frozen pipes!!! At my old house I had to thaw out the pipes while laying on my back, in the mud.
I have to do that every now and then out at the well head. I stick a work light on a drop cord under the plastic and walk away, and in a little while the water will start running again.
Before Dad had the Detached garage built they had a pumphouse and every winter dad would put a 100 watt light bulb in there and it kept it from freezing.
The stripes of a tiger don't wash away.
