I'm setting here contemplating the 6 folders setting in front of me and thought I would just write up a little "Show and tell". I just posted up links to a picture of each blade as I didn't want to make this post even longer.

1. GTI folder.

It's a big burly folder with a WIDE 3.5 inch blade. It's the kind of knife you could use to dismantle a Buick. BUT it carries and handles a lot lighter than it is. It's a spear point with a heavily hollow ground 3/16 inch thick blade with enough belly to skin/butcher with yet enough of a long edge to also work as a slicer. It has a liner lock that is probably close to 5/32 inch thick!

It's the kind of blade you could survive with if you really needed to, not as easily as a good fixed blade, but you could survive.

Yes, it's made in China, but they got it right.!

2. Small Sebanza classic MM with micarta inlays.

Really, what more needs to be said. The BEST edc blade I have EVER layed hands on, even better than the Pat Crawford custom Titanium Shark (small one) I traded for it. To me it's the perfect balance of blade/handle length and what small weight it has just disappears on your hands as you hold it for it's designed purpose, cutting. The titanium handle and frame lock is as strong as they come.

3. Benchmade Mini Griptilian with sheeps foot blade.

Another classic blade. Uses the axis lock which is smooth, with a CAPITOL S! Carries and handles VERY well and is a cutting machine. The handle might be small for some, but if this doesn't bother you, give em a look.

4. Chris Reeve Umnumzaan.

Again, another classic knife. With it's 3.75 inch blade and the raised false edge, it just seems like it will pick itself up and fight you to the death. VERY heavy titanium handle and frame lock that won't let you down no matter what task you put it to, it just oozes confidence.

5. Ontario Rat II folder.

This small, 3 inch bladed sub 30 dollar blade is a winner. It's quality and usefulness far exceeds what it's meager price would make you think. True, it's not an end of the world survival blade, but for an edc it's quite capable of handling daily tasks with ease.

6. Emerson CQC-7 with spear point blade.

It is a surprisingly light knife for it's size (3 inch blade) this is brought about by titanium liners (and liner lock) and G-10 handle slabs. At first glance is is a strange looking blade being only ground on ONE side. Emerson calls this a v grind, and yes the blade is conventionally V ground, but the off side does not have a secondary bevel, it is just flat ground from the bevel to the edge. This single sided blade will put off some folks, it did me at first, but actually with only one "Edge" to sharpen it's not really all that bad, just different and takes some getting used to. I will tell you one thing, being only single edge ground, when you cut something it wants to push away from the ground edge, making a gradual arch to the side, NOT a straight cut. If you can live with this, it (at least mine as I carried it for a good 5 years) will serve you well.
