The HEST Folder finally arrived. No awesomeness here. This is the absolute last folder I would ever carry into a hostile environment. Even after loosening the pivot adjustment and working it with Break-free, the HEST folder is a two-hand opener. Lock up is solid. The blade is very thick. The ergonomics are good. The edge was marginal. Overall fit and finish......the Taiwan made RAT-1 folder is better. This thing is pretty rough, guys. It cannot compare to my Benchmades or ZT folders. I will keep it as a collectible, but when I go into a potentially hostile environment tonight, the ZT0350 will be my choice.

The HEST blade is even thicker than my ZT0301 or Skirmish.

Nice review HD, kind of disappointing since Lion Steel makes some really nice knives. I'm sure they rushed these to get them cranked out as fast as they can to meet the deadline. For a $175.00 blade you would think the fit and finish would be better. Glad to hear they got some of the bugs worked out that the LE models had.
