Mine opens alright with one hand, although it does take slightly more effort than some, I actually like mine being a little tighter, but it sounds like yours may be a little tighter than mine. The SR-1's can be a little stiff compared to say a Chris Reeve, but I like the solid feel it has.

My suggestion would be to give it some oil and work the action regularly for a few days, it'll probably loosen up a little.

Also, might not be a bad idea to give that blade a good wiping down with a Tuff Cloth, the steel is a tool steel probably comparable to D2, so it will rust if not cared for properly.

Oh and congrats on the SR-1!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I was glad to run into Lion Steel at Blade this year, and I'm still EDCing my SR-1 everyday, it's still my favorite single blade folding knife!! I still only use it occasionally, but it's always there if I need it.
