how are the rats in hand? im thinkin on buying one

Quite comfortable. FRN slabs. Thumb stud is only on one side but is reversible. Liner lock. Laser sharp. Something like $27 at Cumberland Knife Works. Great deal for the $$. There are some issues between Ontario and RAT right now that will result in a total boycott of Ontario from me from this point forward - that said, these Model 1's are a steal at the most recent pricing. They were $75 until recently, when Ontario went behind RAT's back and ordered another run after RAT asked them not to, due to some quality concerns and the fact that they no longer wish to have their logo and name on any non-USA made blades. Following that, Ontario decided to sue RAT over a number of ridiculous points, one of which being the RAT name, which stands for Randalls Adventure Training (Jeff Randall, owner) - a name that they have been using for their survival school for many many years prior to Ontario making their knives (and, Ontario was the FOURTH manufacturer of RAT knives, and are now trying to bully them out of their name with lawsuits).

So... the knife is good. Ontario has struck an all time low. Your choice!
