OK, so I'm now in the market for a folder. Technically three folders, since I buy everything in groups of 3 it seems......

Let's see if I can get a recommendation or three from you experts.

I currently carry my son's Kershaw 1660ST. I love the way it opens and would prefer something that opens just as easy. But the blade is soft and weak at the tip.

Because of that, I'm thinking something with a sturdy tanto blade design would probably do better for me. Something with a blade length somewhere in the 3.5" to 4" category. I'm not real big on serrations either.

So is there a quality knife out there like what I described? Something that would take the abuse of serious use? I'd like to keep it under $100 per if I could, but absolutely no more than $500 for the three of 'em.

They'll be keeping good company - Chopweilers for the big fixed blades and Dumpster Mutts for the smaller fixed blades.

Thanks!
