I just did some research on Air force PT requirements. A new program was instituted in 2004 that replaced the stationary bike requirements. Stationary bike!!!
1.5 mike run, pushups, sit-ups and waist measurement. Must be taken twice a year but if a person scored high enough it can be reduced to once a year. This PT test is supposed to be much tougher than the old stationary bike test. The run is on a track that slopes downward and can be done while seated in a desk chair that is on wheels. At my age (73) I could pass the test except for the run because of my knees. But then I would be on profile and wouldn’t have to do the run. In contrast, the Army requires a 2 mike run with no pit stops.
