Preamble; I am noit looking for sympathy and have no faith, I just think this is a cool story about how my family took care of things.

today, they buried my 92 year old grandfather. He énlisted the Army Air Corps and was still in when it became the Air Force. He manned the ball gun in B17s during WWII. He even wore a jacket that said "first to bomb Berlin" I brought him to Berlin a year ago during his first time to set foot there. He moved up the ranks from E1 to E6 then from O1 to O6 fullbird colonel.

The honor guard from the Air Force paid full military honors at his funeral today. Being the only Peace (his last name) in the active duty status, they sent his folded flag (gov issue) with the brass from the rifle salute folded inside, his distinguished flying cross (I think I got that right) his officer sword and the rest of his medals to me.

They will all be proudly displayed in my office as soon as I get them .
