I Think the word is spelled Severance. You did just fine. It just boggles my mind how much of our "Slang words" that you understand considering English is not your native language. I commend you guys! Heck, I have a hard enough time with English and I was born here!

Not like in Germany and France(and most other european countries) where all movies and tv shows are translated.
