for whatever reasons I only reallly take to firearms in a .300 caliber. may sound silly but if you told me a .300 whatever would work but a .200 or a .400 was more practical I'd probably still want to go with 300.
My favorite rifle of all time is a .30-06. I can hunt big game in this region and not be worried about being undergunned.
I could easily hunt the rest of my life with one of my 308's and not think twice. The biggest moose I ever shot was with my winchester model 88 in 308. My current favorite hunting rifle is a Rem 600 in 308
