Ok, it was during my secret squirrel years. I went to the chow hall for lunch one day and someone stole my ball type hat (cover) it was the od color when we wore cammies. ANYWAY, I found a Marine hat (Cover) and it fit perfectly and I really like the way it was pleated, not just a green ball cap like the AF had. Anyway, I wore that about a year until I got caught by the General. I don't know If he believed my story or not, but he liked me so he just told me to get the CORRECT hat. I told my colonel (he know about my hat but never said anything because HE was wearing the same kind, but His Lt. Col insignia covered the Globe Anchor and Eagle. BUT the SAME General caught him one day about 6 months later. I didn't let him live that down the remaining 6 months I was there. I DO miss that hat, yours was a lot better looking than ours, as was and still are your Dress uniforms.
