Todd, one thing I like in my Sony a350 is the battery. I've never needed a second one yet!

If I have a fully charged battery, I'm good for about 1000 shots without flash, about 600 or so with flash. So I figure ~800 shot range.

I'd say that's a decent amount of pictures! I don't remember numbers but at least one day with my camera. I tend to use the screen as a finder too.
