I actually decided to see what happens in watered down mustard after I saw how splotchy it was getting.

so far been doing it for around 20 minutes. in and out to make sure it's not rustying in there. I love the dc finish but it unless I want to constantly baby the it it was going to change constantly anyways. if I could keep the silky dc look I would but now in hoping for something fairly even but with a little.
