Marthinus The way it was demonstrated to me was to have the blade edge in the guide then turn on the unit thus keeping unwanted touches or scrapes, i haven't gotten to try it out yet maybe this weekend, but i will keep everyone posted on it good or bad but i do think it will be a asset to my sharpening tool bag.
