I've only mowed our grass twice in going on 2 months. The deep sandy soil just sucks the water down before it can get taken in by the grass. We've had one pretty good rain and a couple other LITTLE ones, but not enough to get it growing hardly at all. We've had the lawn grow more in a week than it has lately.
