NO, my father has a bench one that has a 4 inch wide belt and a 6 inch disk. Not the best for what I did, but it worked ok by going slowly. You CAN do it by hand, but it will take you a long time.

Oh and for making the choil bigger, I just used a round file and sandpaper.
