Well, my basement is MY man-cave, I love my 01' Dodge 4X4, and though I helped my kids some they still had to work for their college. My daughter is working her way through college, and it's helped her a lot. We gave her a car and pay her insurance, and she gets grants to pay for school, but the rest is up to her. She's done ok so far.
