Just make sure you change the blade angle to keep the full thickness of the tip area in contact with the stone. You MIGHT have to raise the handle up to get the angle to stay the same. If you don't you will eventually wind up with a "Sharpened" area that is wider at the tip than the rest of the edge. (Try the magic marker along the edge trick to see what I mean)
