You're NOT old, but I do know what you are talking about. When I was in Japan I ran 2-3 miles at least 3 times a week if I could. I put about 5 miles a day on my "work bicycle" and tried to ride about 50 miles a week AT LEAST on my "racer". I actually enjoyed it but wasn't trying to break any speed records.
