Yup, well I guess the .270 handi barrel will be a keeper. It appears it will do what I bought the 30-30 to do and maybe do it a little better. Simple enough for a inexperienced shooter since its a Handi-Rifle and (hopefully) accurate and flat shooting with enough knock down to reach out to where I wouldn't want to go with my 7.62x39 bolt rifle. This is good for my plans to setup some hunting lanes and stands on some of our property.

I wasn't looking for a rifle to put a ton or rounds through so this does keep my price down as the barrel was only $80 and fits my current handi frame perfectly. All together I have barrels in .357(.38), 45/70, .270, and 12 gauge that will all work on the same H&R frame. That could make for some serious meat getting right there.

Been reading the Handi-Rifle may be going away soon...
