I just don't see the "value" in a 1911. Yes there are those who will string me up and yes I do have one with above $2K invested in it. It works, it shoots well it feels good in hand. No question. But it is truly just not worth the $$s (performance vs price vs value vs utility) invested when you can see just what else you can buy with the same amount. I MUCH prefer the Browning Hi Power in about every respect. Buy a pair of Glocks, or FNs plus magazines and an imperial shyte tonne of ammunition for for them for that same $2K investment.

Sorry rant off... Don't read that wrong either, I do love my 1911 it is a classy and useful tool, just not for the $$s people are spending on them !!!!
