Overall I have concerns with a 380, but penetration isn't one of them. I've carried one form of 380 or another since around 1990. They've all consistently penetrated about 8-10" of river bank mud with quality HP ammo.

This isn't ideal, but it is sufficient especially when combined with a Mozambique.
