The L1A1 with a few tweeks is probably the best evolution of the FAL design IMHO.

I was loading a bit over the last week, it seems my old scales (compared to the new ones) were out .2-.4gns. I had to pull some of the pressure test loads I did up as a couple of cases that belonged to a friend (of many years ago) had got in my stash and they would not even get close to chambering in my rifle after only a neck size. I had checked each and every one of the 100 cases I had set aside, trimmed, polished and neck sized, through the chamber but didn't apply the same diligence to the 20 or so I had for pressure checking etc.

Loaded up several round from 3grns below max weight (70gns) to 1gn over max and launched them off Saturday afternoon. I am pretty sure I can still go up to around 3gns over max but I am going to start work at 1gn over (74gns). I have loaded up a small batch now for accuracy testing, I just need a morning at the range to do so.
