I have used a friend's bumpfire a time or two and have fired quite a few full auto weapons. They are fun to use especially if someone else is supplying the ammo. But I cannot envision a present day scenario, for me, where the bumpfire would be a clear advantage to use over a semi-auto. The high rate of fire would require the carrying of a large amount of magazines. I value accurate shot placement over volume of fire. The mechanism may or may not work the way it is intended. Trying to operate the bumpfire mode in a stressful situation would not work for me. And I cannot afford the ammunition that would be needed to train effectively. grin So, in my situation, simpler is better and I would not use one.
