.22 Mag is a great little round. They hit hard for a rimfire. Speaking of hitting hard....

Okay, back to the subject. Where I'm from, people shoot have shot deer with .22 mags. (Native Americans can use what ever they want to take their game here on the Rez). I've always believed in using enough gun to take an animal cleanly with one well placed shot. But, they sneak up close and take 'em down with one shot...normally. I've also heard horror stories.

In any case, I think the .22 Mag is an excellent "survival" round. It can take small game easily, big game in a pinch (well placed, short range shot), little report, little to no recoil, and you can easily carry a couple hundred rounds without any problem.
