So, you have asked my how I did that wrap twice now, and I still can't think of an easy way to explain it. Knots are easiest to explain in person with hands on. I am willing to bet there is a tutorial online for the "weave" wrap, but I will give it a shot.

It consist of a basic wrap - one cord coiled around the handle from guard to pommel. At the top (guard end) I put two pieces of cord draped over the first wrap. Then, as I made the coil, I just went over one, under one, over one, under one. It isn't the easiest to do if you want it to be tightly woven like mine. You have to stop and work it tight with a needle nose every 4th wrap or so. Oh yeah, you have use the end of the cord from the basic wrap as a weaving unit too, since one side will have more rows than the other.
