Yotes are a different story, doesn't take much energy to put them down, if you can hit them clean, they go down

Where I deer hunt here, a 100 yd shot is rare. Fartherest I've ever shot a deer was 109 paces, most were inside 40 yards.
Only time you see deer here more then 50 yards is if it is standing across a logged clearing, along a cut line or maybe across a meadow.
Thats why a lot of guys hunt with a 30/30.
I hunt a fair bit with a marlin in 44 mag and open sites.

Here everyone talks about the 500 yard shot, but the reality is that most are less then 100 yards
