a local dealer has a satin black heritage 22 with real pretty grips. online searches are generally owners who like em or single six owners saying spend the extra. it's $200 and i don't mind a safety.

bad buy?
The Heritage Rough Riders are not too bad, the accuracy seems to be good in fact. The thing the Rough Rider has going for it is the price where as the Ruger Single Six is more due to better materials in the frame construction and finish. Saying that, and if you don't mind the safety on the side, the Rough Rider should be fine. Speakingf the material used in the receiver it is a cast metal but should be no problem because you are shooting .22 lr and .22 mag. One thing to remember is the resale of a Heritage is very low but a Single Six holds its value pretty well.

Are you looking at a 7 1/2" brl?
