SY knives are tough as nails, in my opinion. I will definitely usemy knives, but I will probably never put it through that kind of abuse, and it's very comforting to know that I own a practically nuke proof blade. A buddy of mine was touting his super hard tempered tanto blade to me, saying it could cut through my Dereg. I wasn't about to let him trash my Dereg, but I did want to show him up, so I took both knives and stuck them into the side of a pine tree, and put my full weight on my dereg and bounced up and down, zero damage except for some paint removal, returned to zero, then I did that with his knife, and it snapped off at the hilt... I felt bad, but he has a lifetime warrenty on it, just has to wait until next years rennaissance festival.
