Moving isn't so bad, it's a great way to get rid of junk. I filled over 5 industrial garbage bags and ditched 2 desks and gave away a drawing table when I moved out of my room before leaving for Basic. I also spent a couple weeks having a couple friends over giving stuff away. A buddy of mine still hooks me up with stuff nearly three years later for all the computer stuff I gave him. I've moved probably a good 30 some odd times in my life. However once I got back from Basic the 2 most important boxes I had set aside as 'need to have' could not be found. Finally the one box which had all my knives, Zippos and ceramic Camel ashtrays finally turned up after 2 years. now almost 3 years later my box with all my hygiene items, Sonicare and such and my jewelry box that was left to me by my uncle when he died is still MIA. And I have gone through my parents basement, garage and shed, got rid of almost half of the stuff yet still no dice. The jewelry box had all my cufflinks tie chains and tuxedo stud set along with my uncles including a pair of gold Dior cufflinks, the first pair of cufflinks that his parents gave him (and my dad, they're twins) and his DLI tie pin from the Presidio.
Yeah, I'm still pretty pissed that one hasn't turned up yet (not a small box either). Even more so than the rust on my knives and the broken spine on an old Lagiole Rossignol folder that my tattoist said she'd give me work for if I ever decided to get rid of it
