I'm in the process of losing a few pounds. I'm 6'2. My "fighting weight" is about 220 (I was 218 coming out of basic training 8 years ago). I was at 257 last month - and decided that it was time to do something about it. Tried a strict diet for a week and lost 10 pounds. Hated life, though. I decided to just eat healthy and exercise a bit, and dropped 6 more pounds the next week. So, I'm at 241 right now - which is half way to my goal of 225. Long story short, I may just have a glass of bourbon on the rocks tonight to celebrate the 1/2 way point!

Mags and I were talking about workouts last night. I need to lose some weight as well. Good on you for taking it on while you're in your final push at school. I probably would not be successful at that. I think I gained close to 20lbs in my grad program...granted, I was also working 40-50hrs a week. My wife did all the cooking, mowed the yard, and changed the oil in my truck for about a year <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> All I did was sit behind a desk, or so it seemed.

Sounds like you're on the right track, with the attitude to back it up!
